TCML-MN Supports Taiwan Online Library of Minnesota’s 2026 Han Character Festival - From calligraphy and Han character games to Taiwanese night market culture, visitors explore the beauty of Han characters and the richness of Taiwanese culture.
明州台灣線上圖書館在2026年10月31日在明州布魯克林中心市的Brookdale圖書館舉辦 2026漢字文化節，明州臺灣華語文中心TCML-MN的主任、老師、學生以及行政團隊擺攤位、教書法支援這個具有推廣台灣繁體漢字和旅遊的特別活動。明州華語文中心林志誠老師受邀在漢字節介紹漢字的歷史、書法、不同字體，以及如何練習寫字， 參與的貴賓在這個難得的這機會跟林老師學習如何握筆以及運筆來書寫毛筆，期間林老師強調運筆需不急不徐，靜下心來書寫毛筆字，慢慢的就可以將文字與線條提升至美學的境地。帶著美國先生和兩位孫子來參與的臺灣呂奶奶說道：「這是她的孫子們第一次拿毛筆寫書法，這個活動特別有意義。」。她也親自教自己的老公學華語，也預定十二月底帶兒女和孫子們到臺灣旅遊。在高中學習華語的白春安在體驗寫書法也說道自己的學習中文的歷程，雖然已經畢業5年了，藉由參與漢字文化節，又燃起了想繼續學華語的熱情。
除此之外，華語文中心學生Blain帶著好友Rita和Jon來當義工顧攤位。行政團隊和老師們在現場向參與的貴賓介紹中心提供的課程，希望有興趣學習華語文的貴賓可以每週六來我們這個大家庭，一起學習華語，另外外華語文中心也提供資料來向來賓推廣台灣旅遊，冀望他們有朝一日，可以到台灣旅遊 ，近一步揭觸台灣多元文化！
除了介紹華語文中心TCML的攤位外， 2026 漢字文化節由明大臺灣同學會的義工們設計六個攤位，民眾帶著全家大小在遊戲中一邊接觸臺灣文化，一邊體驗漢字之美，兩個多小時的活動笑聲不斷，臺灣鄉親們也熱情招待明州新朋友加入這個溫暖的社團。TCML-MN活動組長黃心泓也藉此了解民眾喜歡哪一些活動，未來可以設計到華語文中心的文化活動中。
華語文中心衷心感謝線上圖書館的邀請，讓我們有機會共同推廣漢字之美與台灣文化。這次，華語文中心攜手與其社團走進社區，將漢字與台灣文化帶給更多人，成果圓滿，令人欣喜！
The Taiwan Online Library of Minnesota hosted the 2026 Han Character Festival on October 31 at Brookdale Library in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning - Minnesota (TCML-MN) director, teachers, students, volunteers, and activity team joined the event by hosting booths and offering calligraphy instruction. The festival introduced visitors to traditional Han characters and Taiwanese culture.
TCML-MN teacher Joseph Lin explained the history of Han characters, calligraphy, writing styles, and basic brush techniques. Visitors learned how to hold and use a brush, and Lin LaoShi encouraged them to slow down, focus, and enjoy the process.
One Taiwanese grandmother came with her American husband and two grandchildren. It was the children’s first time writing with a calligraphy brush, which made the day especially meaningful. Another visitor, Bai, said the festival renewed her interest in learning Mandarin, which she studied in high school.
TCML-MN student Blaine brought two friends, Rita and Jon, to volunteer. Teachers and staff introduced the center’s Saturday Mandarin classes and shared information about traveling to Taiwan.
Besides the TCML booth, volunteers from the University of Minnesota Taiwanese Student Association designed six game booths. Families explored Taiwanese culture and the beauty of Han characters through hands-on activities. The two-hour event was full of laughter, and the Taiwanese community warmly welcomed new friends. Activities Coordinator Hsin-Hung Huang also noted which activities visitors liked best, to use in future programs.
TCML-MN thanks the Taiwan Online Library of Minnesota for the invitation and the chance to share Mandarin learning and Taiwanese culture with more people in Minnesota.

夜市攤位設計、甲骨文認字遊戲也深受歡迎。方主任和二年級學生Blaine開心展示夜市攤位設計成果，萬老師和黃組長也展示乖乖許願包的臺灣文化。Exploring Taiwanese Culture Through Booth Activities: Visitors enjoy the Night Market Nook, Oracle Word Match, and Make a Wish with KuaiKuai booths. Director Fang and second-year student Blaine proudly display their night market creations, while teacher Wan and activity coordinator Hsin-Hung introduce the Taiwanese tradition of making wishes with KuaiKuai.
主任帶著學生們一邊設計夜市攤位文化，一邊說明上面的漢字涵義。現場的攤位由明大臺灣同學會幫忙設計，各有特色，老少都喜愛。現場也讓台灣同鄉們見面敘舊好不熱鬧！Bringing the Community Together: Director Fang and students explore the meanings of Han characters while designing their night market booths.
