Preface
The promotion of overseas Chinese education involves the
strengthening and passing down of culture. In order to serve
overseas Chinese and to provide an abundant source of teaching
material and resources, we have invited domestic and overseas
experts to design educational materials for children of every age.
With the rapid growth of high-tech equipment and the Internet,
digital learning has become a new trend. In recent years we have
endeavored to combine excellent Chinese teaching with high
technology by creating vivid and multifunctional digital teaching
materials. To inspire learners to study Chinese, we also try to make
Chinese learning more interesting and practical.
Since 1985, we have been publishing the Chinese Learning
Biweekly that features languages, history, and culture. It became
very popular with people who live overseas. In 1999 we put those
stories and materials on the Internet. They are simple stories with
phrases inherited from the treasury of Chinese wisdom and moral
philosophy. Their number of hits has increased dramatically and
more teachers now use this on-line Chinese Learning Biweekly
as teaching material in overseas Chinese schools. It is a great
encouragement for our long-term promotion of digital Chinese
learning.
For the benefit of our overseas Chinese teachers, we has collected
and reorganized twenty-four animated stories from Chinese
Learning Biweekly in 2007. We hope that this collection’s
interesting and colorful animations help lay a solid foundation for
overseas compatriots learning Chinese. By immersing our overseas
descendants in Chinese culture and morals, we accomplish the
mission of passing down the Chinese culture.
