Introduction 簡介

San Antonio Chinese Culture Institute (SACCI) is a nonprofit organization established in July of 1994. SACCI is the only institute that offers conversational Mandarin classes in San Antonio. SACCI provides opportunities for local communities to learn Mandarin writing, reading, speaking, and traditional calligraphy skills, and traditional culture, as well as participate in local community activities and services. In continuing the SACCI’s mission as well as to support the Taiwanese government’s policy of “Enhancing the promotion of Mandarin teaching in the United States and Europe”, the Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning (TCML) was established in April of 2023. TCML offers Mandarin learning classes with authentic Taiwanese culture experience to the adult population (age of 18 and above) in San Antonio.

聖城中文學校 (San Antonio Chinese Culture Institute, SACCI) 創立於一九九四年七月，位於德州聖安東尼奧市，向當地政府登記為一非營利之文化事業機構，為當地唯一的僑校。聖城中文學校除每年固定參與中美文化相關的社區活動外，主要任務包括華文的閱讀、書寫、會話和書法等文化課程之教授。為呼應及支持臺灣政府「加強向美國及歐洲地區主流人士推廣具臺灣特色的正體華語文教學」的政策，於2023年4月成立臺灣華語文學習中心-聖城中文學校 (TCML-SACCI) ,為聖安東尼地區的成年人 (18 歲以上)提供正體華語文教學，以及體驗臺灣文化的課程。

Courses 課程特色

Each session of the course lasts over a period of 12 weeks. Each week includes a combination of 3 hours in person/online classes. The curriculum is based on “Let’s Learn Mandarin”. Our courses will introduce students to Mandarin and build essential linguistic skills. Alongside the classes that focus on practicality, TCML also organizes cultural activities from time to time, through which students can immerse themselves within authentic Taiwanese culture, enhance their interest in studying Mandarin, and achieve a balanced development in listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

課程每期12週，每週3小時，以《來！學華語》為主軸，教導學生學習正體字華語文並培養基本的語言技能。課程著重實用性，同時輔以文化活動，沉浸在真實的臺灣文化中，並增加學生學習華語文的興趣，以達到聽、說、讀、寫之平衡發展。
